All of the fashion photographers on this list share an appetite for excellence and continually succeed at redefining visual culture, beauty, and art. We are thankful for them.

Horst Diekgerdes

Horst Diekgerdes shoots for Elle, Numero, Harper’s Bazaar, Another Man,Sonia Rykiel, H&M, and Uniqlo, always creating mysterious fairytale-like scenes that seem to have a dark side. As a masterful storyteller, he uses soft light and interesting outdoor and indoor locations.

Sebastian Kim

Sebastian Kim’s work can be found in Harper’s Bazaar UK, i-D, Interview, Muse, Numéro, Numéro Japan, W, and Vogue,, with incredible ad campaigns for Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein, John Galliano, and Opening Ceremony. Whether shooting celebrities or models, individually or in groups, he tells stories though fashion photography in a sexy, tasteful manner.

Victor Demarchelier

Like his father, Patrick Demarchelier, Victor Demarchelier took up photography, and it seems he inherited the fashion photography genes. His work uses simple concepts to make big statements. He shoots for a variety of major magazines and has established himself as separate from, albeit still a descendant of, one of the greatest fashion photographers to ever live.

Alice Hawkins

Alice Hawkin’s work can be found in LOVE, Vogue, i-D, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, and Vanity Fair. Her work is sexy and intriguing, reaching the core of her subjects in both her commercial and fine art fashion photography endeavors. Her ad campaigns for Diesel, Agent Provocateur, and Topman have been some of her greatest work.

Alessandro Dal Buoni

Alessandro Dal Buoni’s fashion photography has unmistakable softness and grace. He shoots for L’Officiel Hommes China, Bon, GQ Japan, Amica, L’Officiel Hommes Germany, Hunter, Dazed & Confused Japan, AnOther Man, D Magazine, Dazed & Confused, i-D, Mixte, Mixte Hommes, Rolling Stone, Vand V Man, among others. He has additionally done striking campaigns for Dior Homme, Yohji Yamamoto, Roberta Furlanetto, KRISVANASSCHE, and more.

Arnaldo Anaya-Lucca

Arnaldo Anaya-Lucca has photographed for a number of publications, often capturing his subjects in movement or in the air. He shoots mostly men and recently did a number of excellent ad campaigns for Ralph Lauren, including their 2012 Summer Olympic Campaign.

Georges Antoni

Georges Antoni’s work is tastefully erotic, often black and white, and often nude, but always high fashion. His photography is a lesson in storytelling, whether told through facial expressions, billowing dresses, calm seas, or simple studio set-ups. He shoots for Oyster, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, and more — always outshining the competition with his coloring and lighting expertise.

Alex Sainsbury

Alex Sainsbury’s work is colorful, confrontational, and full of narrative. Shooting regularly for Dazed and Confused, Garage, Wonderland, Arena Homme+, POP, Interview, and i-D, he somehow keeps it serious and playful at the same time. If simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, then Sainsbury’s work is the embodiment of actual simplicity in fashion photography.

Andrew G. Hobbs

Andrew G. Hobbs’ work is many styles in one — colorful gels, monochrome, hard, and soft. He draws out a lot of emotion from his subjects, both in their gestures and faces. It’s no surprise that his work continually appears in Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, GQ, L’Officiel, and British Vogue, with ad campaigns for Nike and Louis Vuitton changing the game.

Aline & Jacqueline Tappia

Aline & Jacqueline Tappia are another excellent fashion photography duo, who shoot for SID Magazine, Fiasco, ODDA, DSECTION, Grit, GQ Italia, and others. They know how to play up simple backgrounds with great lighting, angles, and styling.

JUCO

JUCO, comprised of Julia Galdo and Cody Cloud, are a photography duo that do it all. Their fashion photography contains highly saturated colors, incredible locations, patterns, textures, and even humor. You can tell that a lot of thought goes into the juxtaposition of their subject, the location, the clothing, and the props.

Where has this year gone?  Still can’t quite believe it’s Christmas in exactly ONE week (ahhhh!) and so on that note,we’ve compiled a round-up of the most stunning holiday window displays, from London to New York City:

Take a virtual tour of 18 of New York City’s most iconic holiday windows through Window Wonderland. Start walking at: https://windowwonderland.withgoogle.com/

Harvey Nichols

The drama of the Italian Renaissance has inspired the latest festive window display from Harvey Nichols  in London’s exclusive Knightsbridge. The luxury department chain has unveiled its intricate and theatrical Italian-themed offering at its flagship store.

The fashionable display is said to echo the drama of Italian opera and features 100,000 glittering ice-white balls used to build chandeliers, clouds and candelabras.

In a first for Harrods, the luxury department store has partnered with Burberry to create its festive window displays. Entitled A Very British Fairy Tale, the windows on Brompton Road tell the story of two children on an enchanting adventure through a snow-swept English country house, complete with flying cars, floating bathtubs and secret passageways.

For this year’s theme, “Light,” Bloomingdale’s recruited eight visual artists to create one-of-a-kind chandeliers.

Bergdorf Goodman

Bergdorf Goodman celebrating 125 years on Fifth Avenue, the department store’s Destination Extraordinary display features dreamlike displays that transport visitors to different landscapes and verdant gardens. Jungle fever has never been this chic!

Henri Bendell

Artist James Goldcrown’s Love Wall features a four-story mural display of bleeding hearts, meant as a reminder to spread the love this holiday season. In this uncertain political climate, it’s a message of love and hope over division. It’s probably not a coincidence that the store is right opposite Trump Tower!

Fortnum & Mason, London

The upscale Piccadilly retailer’s “Together We’re Merrier” campaign is a decidedly bolder way to encourage holiday cheer: The theme explicitly acknowledges this year’s Brexit vote—a consequential move that will withdraw England from the European Union—but ultimately emphasizes the importance of togetherness and cordiality.

holiday-windows-galeries-lafayette-gettyimages-621795162

Galeries Lafayette, Paris

If there were an award for ingenuity, it would no doubt go to Paris’s Galeries Lafayette, where the “Arctic Christmas” holiday windows are filled with paper cutouts in the form of intricate, snip-snipped patterns and masterfully constructed origami.

holiday-windows-liberty-london-gettyimages-623821292

Liberty, London

London’s Liberty department store has decided to go a little rogue this year: the Regent Street mainstay is removing the focus from its usual upscale offerings, instead emphasizing the magic and spirit of Christmas with window displays dedicated solely to “The Nutcracker,” as part of an exclusive new partnership with The Royal Ballet.

holiday-windows-lord-taylor-gettyimages-622237168

Lord & Taylor, New York City

You’ve got to give credit to Lord & Taylor, whose flagship windows—even after nearly eight decades in the business—never fall short of providing some stellar holiday cheer.

holiday-windows-macys-gettyimages-624257752

Macy’s, New York City

The retailer’s Herald Square flagship is offering up a kick of childhood nostalgia this year: Its theme, “Believe,” is a nod to those classic Christmas scenes, like Santa assembling gifts at the North Pole, that conjure up what Christmas meant to us as kids, and stresses qualities like ‘celebrate,’ ‘giving,’ and ‘love.’

holiday-windows-printemps-gettyimages-620913698

Printemps, Paris

Over at Printemps, on the Boulevard Haussmann, it’s all about adventure. This year’s display tells the story of two fictional children, Jules and Violette, who find themselves inside the store after closing time on the night before Christmas.

The always-stylish Selfridges never disappoints with its holiday display.

Who doesn’t fantasize about a “Tiffany New York Christmas?”

This display is called “Make the World Sparkle” and it’s definitely reminiscent of the twinkle and shine of your favorite Tiffany’s jewelry!

greek fashion …greek is chic

Famous for its ancient art and culture, Greece also has bred well-established fashion designers whose work is acclaimed both within and outside its borders.

While international star system embraces the Greek chic in sartorial choices and Greek consumers seeking the «made in Greece» in the market, a new generation of designers with vision renews the face of the Greek fashion, which seems to be entering the most dynamic time.

Bringing Greece into fashion, inspired by history and tradition. Make fashionable bags loom or create hats with the traditional techniques of headwear, but on the basis of the most modern aesthetic. While the Greek economy is going through hard times, the Greeks creators and makers conquer the domestic and international markets and reverse the situation a few years ago wanted them on the verge of extinction. Thus, the Greek brands have come to the shelves of Harrods and international star appearances on the red carpet. And the Greek fashion certainly has not said its last word.

Here is a short profile in nine of the top Greek designers who have reached celebrity status.

 Kathy Heyndels

Kathy Heyndels opened her first Fashion Atelier in the cosmopolitan city of Brussels, Belgium in 1956. Kathy designed haute couture and bridal gowns for Brussel’s elite for over 25 years.
In 1983 Kathy decided to return to her roots and she headed back to Athens where she opened a new Fashion Atelier in fashionable Kolonaki. Fashion ran in the Heyndel’s family and in 1989, Kathy Heyndels son , Yiannis Togo’s took over as Head of Design. With his penchant for design and his strong desire to enter the family business, Yianni launched his first Pret a Porter collection to huge accolades from the Athenian fashion community. Yianni’s personal sense of style, his attention to detail, and his ability to adjust and adapt to the ever-changing tides of fashion while remaining true to the Kathy Heyndels brand and aesthetic have kept the business intact and flourishing. Yianni has been able to build an extremely satisfied, and loyal client base.
At Kathy Heyndels quality is of the utmost importance to Yianni and his team. The Company works with only carefully sourced, 100% natural and authentic fabrications such as silk, satin, taffeta, muslin, and more. Hand embroidery and custom made dresses ensure one of kind items that are truly representative of the client. Swarovski crystals and precious stones are utilized to add elements of elegance and grace to the garments.
The Kathy Heyndels design aesthetic incorporates elegance with comfort and style with a heavy focus on the ethereal element in his evening dresses and gowns.

Μαίρη Κατράντζου

Η  Mary Katrantzou  is a London-based  Greek fashion designer that emerged onto the fashion scene in 2008 and was awarded the British Fashion Award for the Best Emerging Designer in 2011. An expert in integrating bold prints into her designs, her collections are sold in more than 200 stores worldwide. She has also collaborated with world famous brands such as Adidas and Longchamp.

Her prints are constructed through digital technology, and her background in architecture proved useful as she mastered the digital construction and technicality of manufacturing in design, which has influenced her design direction with prints. Because of its strong visual component, prints have allowed her to create a distinctive visual language where color, texture, and shape are equally important. In that manner, she designs each print around the piece of clothing, and simultaneously, the clothes are designed around the print. In recent years, however, a notable change has been seen on her catwalks. Veering away from the prints that made her famous, she has been transitioning towards texture and mentions that brocade, beading, lace, and embroidery are equally as important as the prints.

Whatever means she uses, Katrantzou focuses on the visual language she brilliantly creates; whether she does it by print or by texture, she does it remarkably.
